Tottenham boss Redknapp back in for Real Madrid's fit-again Van Nistelrooy

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is eyeing Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Daily Mail says Redknapp could offer Van Nistelrooy a dramatic return to England if Roman Pavlyuchenko leaves the club.

The Russian striker wants regular starts ahead of next summer’s World Cup and the former Manchester United striker is available as Real Madrid look to trim their squad.

Redknapp would rather have the experienced Van Nistelrooy in reserve than the unsettled Russian.

Tottenham asked about Van Nistelrooy in June when a three-man Spurs delegation headed by Chairman Daniel Levy met with Real officials.

At the time Van Nistelrooy’s £90,000-a-week wage demands put Tottenham off but negotiations could reopen if Pavlyuchenko is sold.
