Rafael Benitez:Liverpool Need To Have Everyone Fit & Ready

Liverpool Need To Have Everyone Fit & Ready - Rafael Benitez

The Spaniard has attributed the lack of depth in the squad to the injuries that some of the players have sustained in recent times...

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has pointed out that his bench strength, or a lack thereof, has been due to persistent injuries to some of his better players.

"It is correct we had some young players on the bench," Benitez is quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"Fabio Aurelio is a senior player who is injured, [Daniel] Agger is injured and we have [Alberto] Aquilani to come back. That is three players, and if we put them on the bench people will say we have a good squad.

"It is a question of trying to keep everyone fit and ready. The young players will also have more experience after this year, so if everyone works together we will have a very good squad."

The Kop boss then turned his attention to the task at hand, and shared his views on the forthcoming game against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium.

"We know Bolton will be difficult," the former Valencia manager remarked.

"They are a physical team and they need to win, so it will be a tough, tough game.

"But the commitment of the players is good, and our training sessions have been really good, and we have to start winning games. Bolton are next up and we will try to do our job."

The Merseyside club will take on the Trotters on Saturday afternoon.
